The screenwriters writes a bad resolution to answer nothing about the inciting incident.

Can humans defeat thousands of invisible invaders?I seriously doubt it. The Darkest Hour is unlike Independence Day. Independence Day is a great end of the world and Alien movie. The Darkest Hour sucks.

You can tell The Darkest Movie wasted money and delivered the worst end of the world movie in recent time. What a disaster of a movie.Jason Allen Goodlinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16476717721420583953noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2643714587047748844.post-38918869184690876822011-12-28T09:00:59.615-08:002011-12-28T09:00:59.615-08:00Candice ;-), Did I like it? In the seminary I wrote an essay on the Marian Imagery in the First Terminator movie ;-).

Now why the heck would I do that? ;-) Well we were being asked to write a closing thesis on some aspect of theology and contemporary culture. I told my thesis director that if they were serious about this then I probably should write something about something like the movies. Then I pointed out to him that there were all kinds of references to traditional Mariology in the Terminator: A being from the future comes to a nobody waitress named Sarah (not Mary but a Biblical name) to announce that she will give birth to the future savior of humanity, a savior as it were with the initials J.C. The Terminator like the dragon of Rev 12, was literally born of human arrogance (sin) and was a machine with one job only -- to kill, kill, kill until he finally destroyed his target (the woman and the child she was carrying). The angelic figure then blows off the feet of the Terminator making him into a Serpentlike being still clawing at the woman's feet, and she finally kills him by kick starting mechanical press which crushes his head (Genesis 3;15). Finally, she rides off into the desert with her child in the same way as Rev 12 ended. Anyway the director loved it and the rest is history ...

So I've been following movies and then sci-fi movies ever since.

Now was this a 'great sci-fi' movie? Not particularly, but it had its moments and as I wrote above, what's perhaps most interesting to me is that the movie offers the possibility of the movies heroes not being simply Americans but really from all over the world. This initial episode was set in Russia but the movie ends with the possibility that future installments will take place elsewhere as well. And I do find that nice (especially since I wrote that in the same said seminary I had been given a hard time with the film "Independence Day" which had come out during that time ...

Take care Candice and I'll look for the movie you suggest as well ;-)Dennis Krizhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16913610930132868134noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2643714587047748844.post-33766270547366028412011-12-27T20:44:37.992-08:002011-12-27T20:44:37.992-08:00wow....so you liked it? the trailer looks horrendo...wow....so you liked it? the trailer looks horrendous. when i think of foreign alien invasion films, i really love Attack the Block. will check this one out on dvd.Candice Frederickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16195801629178470295noreply@blogger.com
